The Packsaddle Lookout was located in above Lake Pend Oreille on the highest peak in the area.  A camp was established in 1915, and a Cupola cabin was built in 1925.  Then a monstrous 76' steel tower was brought in and used from 1934 to 1941.  The lower 20' was taken to Lookout Mtn in 1977, and the rest was accidentally dropped from the helicopter into the forest below.
