1940 GMC ACKWX-353 military all purpose vehicle (#1). It's the older version of the WWII CCKW. It was used on Ruen Farms since bought new. I have some black and white pictures from the 40's, color pictures from the 60's and 70's and current pictures of the old girl in it's "rough" state. I salvaged the very unique brush guard from a scrap pile out at the farm, and also have the headlights but no grill (If you have a '40 GMC grill for sale let me know). 1940 GMC ACKWX-353 (#2). It was used by my grandpa's brother for the Ruen Lumber Company as a logging jammer. It's a really unique setup which looks more than just a tad dangerous to operate. 1945 International K-8 with a Red Diamond 361 engine. It has been used for everything out at the farm from hauling spuds to loading logs. The engine is still in pretty good shape (for a 55 year old motor that still runs). This truck will see a full restoration one of these days, as it is historically the most important truck I have from the old farm. 1948 Chevrolet 5700 "Loadmaster" RS 2-ton COE. Another farm truck, it was well used to haul cattle to Spokane - I even found a cattle log book in the glove compartment from the 50's filled out by my great-grandfather Oliver Ruen. 1961 GMC 1/2 ton. One of the farm trucks that I got to drive quite a bit, this '61 GMC has seen a few miles. The hood that is currently on it is actually a '63 GMC hood because my uncle Warren smashed the original hood. This truck still has it's original GMC 305 V6 engine - the toughest engines made in the 60's. (see the other "twin" below). 1961 GMC 4000. This is the 2nd of the "twins". After further review, even with the cab damage (I can get another) and the pilfered parts through the years, I have decided to keep it for a
future restoration because of it's family and local historical value. It does have the original (hard to find) '61 hood and most of the interior parts left, as well as the complete 305 V-6. I am currently looking for front fenders - these are
common to 1960-1963 Chevy and GMC trucks, 3500 and 4000 (1/2 ton won't work). If you have any NOS or used to sell, email me. To see more images of this 1961 GMC and more information about it, click on the picture or
